  • West African Gaming Expo 2017 ( WAGE 17 ) is back for the fourth year running.

    The conference and exhibition which is the first and only technology conference and exhibition in West Africa focusing on animation, video, mobile games and related products will aim to celebrate the advancement made by the African gaming industry.

    WAGE which aims to connect the best, brightest, and most innovative professionals in the interactive entertainment industry.

    WAGE 17 aims to lower the barrier of entry into the regions gaming industry by bringing together stakeholders such as Telecommunications companies, Distributors / Resellers , Publishers, Developers and creating opportunities where business can be done.

    Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about coding, games development, animation creation, take part in Hackathons / Esport tournaments, register to attend game development classes, and meet the creators of their favorite games.

    WAGE has partnered with Bundesverband Interaktive Unterhaltungssoftware. The BIU, the German Games Industry Association, is the organisation that officially represents the German computer and video games industry.

    WAGE 17 conference will be hosting the best African developers, as they seek about their experience in the African gaming industry and what the future holds for African Gamers. Some of the confirmed speakers are :

    Some of WAGE 17 Activities are

    1) Under 18s Hackthon "Pitch A Game " - Pitch A Game competition is for young students and upcoming game developers.Anyone below the ages of 17 will have the opportunity to pitch a gaming Idea to a panel judges. All games being pitched must have a playable demo.

    Children under the age of 18 without a game but wants to take part can do so.

    2) Over 18s Hackathon - WAGE 17 Hackathon competition is or content creators and developers.Anyone above the ages of 18, will have the opportunity to attend a 2 day hackathon.

    All developed content will be presented at WAGE 17 and all participants will be provided with exhibiting space

    3) WAGE 17 Conference - Learn from the experts, network with potential investors and business partners

    4) Pro Evolution Soccer Tournament - Konami UK, the makers of World Famous Pro Evolution soccer Tournament, will be hosting a Pro Evolution Soccer.

    5) Just Dance Party - This is the time for Africa best dancers to put on their dancing shoes on and show the world your skills

    6) Human Monopoly Board - BestMan Games Nigeria, the makers of Monopoly Nigeria, will be creating a 20ft by 20ft Human Sized monopoly board.

    7) Game Development for Beginners - Chop Up Games, one of Africa's Largest games development studios will be teaching beginners how to develop games.

    8) Comic Book / Animation / Games Exhibition - We will be showcasing the best developers, and content creators the region has to offer.

    9) Gidi Run Esport Tournament - Nigeria's Largest games development studio and Trace TV will be hosting a mobile phone tournament.
